Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI)

Empowering women and couples with informed reproductive choices.
Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI)

Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI) is an advanced form of IVF that is specifically designed to help couples overcome male infertility. At Patna IVF and Super Speciality Hospital, we offer ICSI with state-of-the-art lab technology and expert clinical support to give you the best possible chance of conception—even when sperm quality is low.

Under the guidance of Dr. Vibhashini Prasad, a leading IVF and fertility expert with over 30 years of experience, our ICSI services are tailored to your specific needs and performed in a highly controlled embryology environment for optimal success.

When Is ICSI Recommended?

  • Low sperm count (oligospermia)

  • Poor sperm motility or shape (astheno/teratozoospermia)

  • Previous IVF failure

  • Blocked or absent vas deferens

  • Surgically retrieved sperm (TESA/PESA)

  • Unexplained infertility with poor fertilization rates

How Does ICSI Work?

  1. Ovarian Stimulation: The female partner receives hormonal medication to produce multiple eggs.

  2. Egg Retrieval: Eggs are collected from the ovaries under mild anesthesia.

  3. Sperm Collection: A semen sample is taken or sperm is surgically retrieved if needed.

  4. Microinjection: A single, healthy sperm is selected and injected directly into each mature egg using a microneedle.

  5. Embryo Culture: The fertilized eggs are grown in the lab and monitored for quality.

  6. Embryo Transfer: The best embryo is transferred to the uterus for implantation.

ICSI significantly improves fertilization rates in cases of male infertility and gives couples a chance at pregnancy when conventional IVF may not work.

At Patna IVF, we combine technical precision with compassionate care—because every couple deserves the opportunity to build a family.
